Not at all! Pilates builds flexibility progressively. Many of our students start with limited flexibility and see dramatic improvement within weeks. Every exercise can be modified to your current level.
Mat Pilates uses body weight and small props for resistance. Reformer Pilates uses a spring-loaded machine that adds variable resistance, making exercises both easier (for support) and harder (for challenge). Both are excellent — we recommend trying both!
Joseph Pilates said, 'In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 you'll see the difference, in 30 you'll have a new body.' We recommend 2-3 sessions per week for best results.
Yes! Pilates is one of the most recommended exercises for back pain by physiotherapists and doctors. It strengthens the deep stabilizing muscles that support your spine. Many clients experience significant pain relief.
Comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Avoid loose or baggy clothing that can get caught in reformer springs. Grip socks are required (available for purchase if needed).
